Thanks for the reply. I simply deleted all rspec-related gems and reinstalled. It works now. After doing that, these are all the rspec gems I have: rspec (1.1.11) rspec-rails (1.1.11) rspec_generator disappeared. I guess it got folded into rspec-rails.
