Conrad's advice is generally excellent, and it will be interesting to see what salary.com says. My impression is that a reasonable target range would be US$50,000-100,000 per year before taxes, depending on experience (mid-career developers can probably expect about $70-80k) and geographical area (you're likely to get paid more in an expensive location such as New York or San Francisco).
