I have tried quite a few myself.I will say again, VIM is the best option if one isn't already a master at using Emacs. If your confortable with Emacs, then there are no questions about Emacs. But otherwise, I don't think there is anything better than VIM with a bunch of plugins, if you are able to find and customize the .vimrc file properly, you won't even have much of a learning curve...
