Summary: Primary responsibilities include the development of EMS tool and integrations amongst them. This role requires a strong development background, the ability to set and deliver against deadlines, a basic understanding of EMS technologies and concepts, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills in non-compiled languages as well as Java and possess logical thought processes and agile development experience.
• Work with EMS development team to provide continuous design and implementation support for tools • Gather, document, and implement requirements for tool integrations • Work with external project teams to plan, design, and implement monitoring solutions • Work with Architecture teams to design monitoring solutions in support of new applications • Work with application teams to create custom JAVA application monitoring to the source code level • Evaluate new monitoring and alerting technologies • Maintain and improve existing monitoring/alerting/escalation processes through development efforts • Ensure designs provide for 24x7x365 availability of monitoring and alerting toolsets Education and Experience • BS Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience • 5+ years application development • COTS EMS/OSS tools experience a plus Skills • Strong skills in application development lifecycle • Demonstrated skills in Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and PHP Frameworks • Demonstrated skills in MySQL development • Experience in ExtJS and JAVA development a plus • Solaris, HP-UX, and Linux; basic UNIX system administration required • Experience with Weblogic and Tomcat based applications a plus • Strong working knowledge of the following technologies: HTTP, SSL, Ruby, PHP, Perl, Java, MySQL, 3 Tier Application Development, L2 Switching, L3 Routing, TCP/IP, and SNMP • Strong written, documentation, and oral communication skills • Experience in delivering projects with multiple departments/vendors --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group.
