i did the following after upgrading ruby
it shows all the gems installed but the rails gem directory only has the 
one entry.
it seem to work except for mysql at the moment
I did the following to installs rails

gem install tzinfo builder i18n memcache-client rack \
  rake rack-test rack-mount erubis mail text-format \
  thor bundler
gem install rails --pre
