I'm about to start a project that uses Rails, Thrift, and Phusion
Passenger.

The Rails instances will be Thrift clients.

If anyone has any pointers to tips or tricks for maximizing Thrift
performance I'd be grateful.

In particular it looks like I will need to create a Thrift client pool
that initializes at boot time.

TIA!
Adam.
