It is commented out and looks exactly like this: #RAILS_GEM_VERSION = '1.2.3' unless defined? RAILS_GEM_VERSION As I remember I commented this out about a year ago when I converted from 1.2.3 to 2.3.5 or whatever 2.x.x version I converted to then.
