Hi, i think that bundler tries to install the gems globally for all users on your machine. It means into your system's gem repository. So you need to input the root password or your password if you're in the admin group to allow write access. If you want to install gems in your home dir have a look at this site [0]. Or make your life easy and use RVM[1].
