I have been working on getting a Rails 2.1.0 app upgraded and am investigating ferret issues. Is Thinking Sphynx considered an alternative to the full search functionality of acts_as_ferret or is there another gem I should be looking at? I need something that works on Rails 2.3.11 and Rails 3.0.
