Like I said before, I am not trying to schedule a cron job, I am
trying to display a schedule of events.
I believe you're looking for temporal expressions. There are a few
gems out there that do that kind of thing. I believe it'll just come
down to which API you like best:

You can combine Runt with Chronic if you want:
