What OS/platform are you using? I ask because the install is a little different depending on what OS you have. I personally use RVM on Mac OS X for development and deploy to Ubuntu servers (typically). RVM makes it really easy to install Ruby and control your environment. Well worth it if your platform supports it. Check it out at: https://rvm.beginrescueend.com/ The Rails guides are a great place to start as Everaldo mentioned. Once you get familiar with the basics of Rails I would recommend trying to find a Ruby user group close to your area. Having someone to answer questions as you learn is an invaluable resource, as long as you are considerate of their time. Welcome to Rails, we hope you enjoy your stay. :) -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group.
