Hi Cristiano, unfortunately I haven't had much to do with OSGI up to now. Thus I might get some of your intentions wrong. But I'd say yes the API is needed. it stems from poi-ooxml which contains the Office 2007 and beyond code. This is also where the WorkbookFactory is from.
