FYI, I tried running a test using Java serialization and I receive the same issue. Upon opening both artifacts of Java and XStream serialization, I find a reference to the missing class however it's just not being loaded into the VM.
Again, if anyone can give me some pointers on where/how to track down this issue I'd appreciate it.
