what do you mean I can take both approaches?

processInstance.findWorkItemsInWaitState() is not even an API that
Drools Flow provides. So that is exactly my question:

"is there something similar that the framework already provides?".

Because I am looking at "processInstance" and/or
"ksession.getWorkItemManager()", they have no knowledge of which particular
workitem causes the flow to wait.

Thank you,
/Anatoly
