You mean you can't compile it?

Generally, things you can compile with MVEL aren't necessarily so with
Java, and vice versa.

IIRC, MVEL was not very convenient to use during 5.2.0 development, and I
don't know how good it is in 5.2.0 FINAL.

Use 5.3.0.
