I fixed the issue today, it was a subtle bug that I overlooked in the helper class that creates the knowledge session. I had a local variable for the session but I never used it. Therefore, when ever I called the getKnowledgeSession method it built a new one, instead of returning the one it already built. I was registering listeners on one session and then the queries were being interrogated on another one.
