The names are fine, however the internal prefix of "bmk" in headers and
symbols is sucky. Will that change to "rumprun" eventually?

Excellent. I'm glad that (not only) my paltry attempts at cleaning up the
call chain at startup / shutdown motivated you to fix the layering
