I've mostly written a rump kernel FAQ, with most of the questions you
posed below (plus answers to them). My questions don't come in explicit
categories, though. Might be worthwhile to create a hierarchy/taxonomy
there.
I just proposed a hierarchy :) although the title/subtitles needs to be
worked out.
Yes, now it just need to be applied.

I can reorg the site, though I never liked looking at wiki generated by
github. Would have been better to generate wiki via markdown, RST, etc and
push it back to github via pages.
I don't think anyone is particularly in love with the current software,
so if you want to, go for it! However, I do want to avoid old URLs
dying -- I've been persistently presenting links to the wiki as
http://wiki.rumpkernel.org/foo for the precise reason that we could some
day migrate away from github.
I did have to write a script to generate the FAQ page so that I could
get a table of questions at the top. It does make the FAQ hard to edit
from the web interface alone, but I think the table of questions is more
important.
I do believe there is an option to change stuff locally and push via git,
though never did that.
Yes, but that depends on having push access.
