Clarification: I know Xen HVM is for unmodified os, so technically it should be able to run the rump kernel baked for bare-metal which you can very well do right now. In this mode the rump kernel running as Xen HVM guest will run slower, although technically it could use special paravirtual drivers to bypass the emulation (for disk or io). I don't know if there is a special flag for Xen HVM to take advantage of that though.
