I've got it past the error using this method.
But now I'm back to the error I received in the virtual machine using virtual 
box:

"rumprun: failed to mount rootfs from image"

I boot it on real hardware off a USB stick.

What now?

How did you figure out that it was the audio drivers that had to be removed?
