Sure:

It is just a replacement for AWS/GCE for unikernels in general, Rumprun ones in particular.

Hosting/configuration/network setup/etc. was such a pain to us when we were trying to get going with it for production. We wanted something that we could provision on demand.

As for how it works - admittedly it's very light on documentation right now - we'll try to improve that in the next few days but some examples are @ https://deferpanic.net/examples . We'll be opening up an API shortly but essentially after pointing it at a github repo (of which you could fork examples of above) we burn the image and allow you to boot it up. In the case of something like drupal we can boot up the database and the barebones install pre-configured for you.

Since CI/CD is completely different with this style of infrastructure it's also an exercise in exploring what is missing tool wise.
