No. There's precedent for dropping support for old toolchains which are too inconvenient to support for "moving forward", see checktools() in rumprun/build-rr.sh. If someone wants to support old toolchains, they're of course welcome to, but no reason to wait for them.

The problem actually used to be that the toolchains offered by Travis were too ancient to sensibly work, so it's good to see that the problem has been reversed.
