You might want to look at for example some "desktop in the browser" 
projects.  Sounds like they might be a better match for what you want 
(or at least per my understanding of what you want).

Assuming we're talking about rump.js, there was a small amount of 
"application" code which makes calls into the rump kernel based on what 
you type into the web form.  It was just a few lines, really.
