After the discussion on issue #169 I thought the trailing _ was OK,
sorry about that.

I pulled the latest changes and did 'make clean && make check' - that
was fine with no errors. So #169 and #172 can be closed now.

Not that I'm an update junkie or anything, but LLVM has recently
released 2.8 and bumped the current SVN to 2.9svn, so I had to hack
the makefile to suit. Presumably anyone with the released version 2.8
would be fine to build rust, and, for now, 2.9svn is OK too. This
might change as more work is done on LLVM, of course. I can try and
make a more robust change to Makefile if you want?
