Nope, only one other person got back to me (off list) so I put the idea on hold for now. Maybe I will try to start something towards end of October because I don't have much time now. I put you on the spam list then :) I imagine more people from outside the rust community could be interested in at least a first "intro" meetup, then we can see where to go from there.
