urxvt always permits it.

urxvt uses the exactly same escape sequence as xterm.

please note that screen often likes to filter escape sequences. this is
unrelated to urxvt.

I am pretty sure they work. It didn't occur to you that you might make a
mistake? If not, I cannot help you, if yes, I cannot help you unless you
make a proper report including at least: 1) what are you doing 2) what is
happening 3) what did you expect instead.
