Hello all,

This might seem like an odd thing to ask but i have noticed that when
doing things like "ls --color=auto" within rxvt-unicode (black
background, white foreground), directories which are colored blue are
a very deep royal blue -- which is nice but unreadable.

Doing some investigation, i took the output from:

dircolors -p

And noticed nothing odd there. I then looked at xterm to see what
that did: (again, black background, white foreground) -- sure enough
when doing an "ls --color=auto" the blue of the directories was more
of a purple color - much easier to read.

I have noticed the same behaviour with xterm in gnome-terminal --
which is what i would also like to see in rxvt-unicode; it's as if
both xterm and gnome-terminal apply some sort of contrast setting?
it's a bit hard to explain but hopefully if you run the tests for
yourself you'll see what i mean?

Thanks!

David
