You are complaining about the default namespace which on almost any OS includes functions beyond SUS. I don't know what Roy wrote in his original message, I am just telling you that blaming NetBSD for adding common functions to the default namespace is off. If you want to ensure that nothing messes with the namespace, use _XOPEN_SOURCE or similar macros.
