Probably ok, too, *iff* TEMR is set correctly.
Leaves termcap - did you check that?
If that isn't it, are you using gentoo? It usually comes with a broken
compiler I hear...
In any case, it must be something specific to your setup, because I also
use bash and urxvt, and don't have these issues (and I am not alone with
that :).
