It's almost there. Nearly perfect. Everything critical is working in urxvt and I'll probably blog about the journey -- to help save others time if they decide to convert from another terminal emulator.
My (hopefully) final two questions will take urxvt from "almost" to "awesome": 1. Switching between tabs in tabbedex: every move (next_tab or prev_tab) results in the screen flashing once before showing the next/previous tab. It looks like the "visual bell" flash -- although I've unset that option in the config file: URxvt.visualBell: 0 -> Have you found any way to turn off the screen-flashing "feature" when switching between tabs? 2. My xft font _almost_ works in urxvt, but falls back to another font for certain letters. The xft font works beautifully on a standard Gnome/KDE install. It may have something to do with this unanswered question asked by Aron Griffis (thread begun by Mark H. Wilkinson): http://lists.schmorp.de/pipermail/rxvt-unicode/2009q2/001007.html Also: the bug only shows up when the letterSpace property is set below "-1": URxvt.letterSpace: -2 -> Have you figured out how to get your font working with tight spacing (kerning) between letters? --- If you have experienced and overcome these two issues, it would be great to know what you did. With your help, I'll finally take my urxvt experience from "almost" to "awesome" -- and get started documenting exactly how (with examples, of course), in order to help anyone else who might want to do the same. Thanks for any ideas you might have. . . . . . ____________________________________________________________ Can't remember your password? Do you need a strong and secure password?
