problem with selecting text on Solaris 2.6

I'm using rxvt v2.7.1 under Solaris 2.6.  Earlier versions had this same
problem.  I don't know if it has anything to do with Solaris, or if it
happens under other OSs too.  This is the problem:

If I use the mouse to select a block of text, not only is the text
selected, but so is the empty space at the ends of the lines going all the
way to the right side of the window.  This empty region is saved as blank
spaces.  Normally, the blank space would be ignored and the CR/LF would
end the line (at least that's the way it works in my normal xterm
windows).

Can ya fix it?
