When I try to paste the selection in an rxvt into another application (e.g.,
Netscape, xterm, a DIFFERENT rxvt), rxvt dies with the following error:
XIO: fatal IO error 14 (Bad address) on X server ":0.0"
after 967 requests (966 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
[1]+ Exit 1 rxvt
this does not happen with xterm. Here are versions of my X server:
xserver-3dlabs 3.3.6 X server for 3DLabs GLINT and Permedia-based
xserver-svga 3.3.6 X server for SVGA graphics cards
NB this machine is a DEC Alpha.
