OK I had to install manually gstreamer1.0-plugins-base-apps and gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad, the rest was already there. I dont know why it apt-get installed a mixture of 0.10 and 1.0.
Now the gst-discoverer-1.0 run on one of my *.mp4 files works fine. No more errors. Until now I only followed the instructions in the README.ubuntu and used the "upstart/rygel.conf" script. For Ubuntu you only need upstart/rygel.conf and if you want to have on-demand thumbnailing or use Tracker you also need wrap-dbus.
