Did you read the log file that you sent? It suggests that you need
development packages of a couple of tools, besides Python that would be:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/libxml2-dev
http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/libxslt1-dev
Install those (along with python2.7-dev) and you'll be fine. (I saw the
same error messages before installing those -dev packages on my Raspian.)
