Hi,

I'm Andrea, a computer science student at Politecnico di Milano. In our
course of "Piattaforme software per la rete" that translated sounds like
"Software platforms for the network" we are using for practicing with
SDN technologies (especially ryu) the VM you suggest in your "OpenFlow
Tutorial", that i downloaded from sourceforge. Everything seems running
well inside the machine (we've used still now only mininet) but i saw
that the distribution on wich the VM is based is an ubuntu 12.10, which
support ended in May 2014. So i can't sync with official repos to
install new software(eg. the python packages you suggest on the github
page) and so on. So i ask you : where can i find a newer vm if you have
produced one? Why not using a LTS version for the VM (like the 12.04)?
There are particolar reasons about compatibility with the software you
included? Can I in some way help you with producing a newer image might
based on the latest LTS? If you give me the list of all the sofware that
needs to be included with all the specs you need I can try to start from
a scrath and minimal image of ubuntu 14.04 and try to include all the
necessary.

Thank you for your time, hoping to hear you soon,

Sincerely,
Andrea Gussoni
