Assuming this project can actually deliver what it promises (which is very
questionable, given the components - the software flow table is not
accessible via a full performance bus, so it can be trivially overloaded,
among other things), what would be the point of a 4x100Mb OF switch?

At low densities you can buy a more functional intel I350-T4 NIC for less
than $100, which sure needs a PC attached (but not involved in forwarding
if you're just using the ACL tables), but which supports gigabit and real
jumbo frames.  If it were of higher density you could make the argument,
but 4 ports is not sufficiently useful to get past the extreme limitations.
