Hi, Hummm... it is depending on the implementation of your switch, I guess.
The length of the OpenFlow messages in bytes can be retried from ofp_header, but how to allocate memory for those rules is not mentioned on the OpenFlow Spec. Have you tried to contact your switch's team?
