You can spawn a thread to do that:
from ryu.lib import hub
def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs):
# init something.......
hub.spawn(self.clear_mac_to_port)
def clear_mac_to_port():
while True:
self.mac_to_port = {}
hub.sleep(T)
