Hello list,
i admit that CVE-2014-7844 was a shock deeper than i initially
thought. It's all fresh and new but on [next] already there is
updated code that also covers the new mailing-list code; but
extended address checking is implemented in general and thus now
also covers other headers, in order not to work with non-network
address fields where those are required. (Note: these fields are
not subject to shell execution or file creation.)
With -d / *debug* file and pipe addresses are now also covered by
the dry-run policy (*record* however is written), and -vv (2x
*verbose*) will at least print what is going on.
And i finally added a *reply-to-honour* quadoption in order not to
silently discard a From: field in favour of an existing Reply-To:.
What else is new since the last status report? Ah ja, *showlast*
should now really work (hi Gavin), `localopt's set in
*folder-hook*s should now restore the settings when the folder is
left again, but no earlier, and in addition it is now possible to
use relative-to-*folder* syntax which is nice to share hook
settings that are identical in several folders, e.g., i use:
set folder-hook-+sent=fh-sent
define fh-sent {
localopts yes
set autosort=date showlast
}
So all the new stuff needs time to mature (thought it was but
well), so now really
Have a good time,
and a happy new year.
Ciao!
