That is to say, the From_ line is a property of the MBOX database message format, it tracks the sender of the message and the time the message was received locally. The Maildir format stores the receiving time as part of the filename instead. Etc. So by default you do see the date and time the message was locally received / stored, rather than the date and time that the message has been sent. This is often surprising, i personally always have used *datefield* (as in "set datefield='%R %Y-%m-%d'") due to this.
