Hello list. Yes it is true that we should ship something out, finally. I therefore changed my plans and will ship out a v14.9.0 which does not include the three major features that i am looking forward to, which i want to see happen before i turn to the other two projects i want to maintain. It still will bring a large number of improvements and new features.
So my plan is to release a v14.9.0-pre3 in this year. I have to do two or three things which need to go into that first, though. Thereafter there is one necessary and still missing improvement to message lists which must be in the final release, and IMAP i want to reinstantiate. Then scan-build(1) and Coverity.com runs, i need to dig into Mailman to be able to move the ML to my domain, i finally need to buy a new system to be able to do test runs on a number of systems (in practice all my VMs lay around unused for over a year, since my main machine died). I need to convert the manual to HTML via grohtml(1), which will need at least half a week due to the needed fixups. Say, a .0 around the end of January, followed by .1 ... .3 which bring in the major features, and i hope it will be before April 1st that we are there. (At this intermediate step, that is to say.) I wish Christians a merry Christmas, all a happy new year (shall that be possible with the political frictions and sabre-rattling that is to be expected, lets just hope for the best, and do something about it).
