Subject: Kalmbach's "Great Model Railroads" Congratulation, Ed. Roger Nulton
Roger (and other potential authors).... It might be premature for "congrats" since I have no idea what will actually be appearing in the magazine. I sent Andy a track plan sketch that was very rough. I suggested he send back an almost-finished diagram so I could make corrections and improvements. Well, nothing ever showed up and so I figured they ran with what I sent. I sort of assume they embellished what I submitted. But I really do not know. Likewise with the text. I sent in the article and told Andy that he could edit it to his heart's content. Anything he wanted was fine with me. So, as a result, I have no idea whether the article that eventually appears will resemble what I sent in or look rather different. Ditto for the photos. I have seen the photos Andy took and wrote captions for all of them. But I have no idea which will be used, size, placement, etc. One advantage of this "situation" is that even I will be looking forward to seeing something I have never seen before. Will it be good and deserving of "congrats"? Heck, I don't know. Never seen it. I decided it would be best to grease the skids and let the professionals do whatever they wanted with the raw material. If they are happy, I suppose I will be happy too. I hope. Cannot wait for Nov 2 when it hits the stands. I've already ordered copies for my 100 closest friends. :>) Cheers...Ed L.
