I model in ON30 (no flames please) and want to use the Sergent coupler for various reasons but the assembly thereof using ACC or epoxy drove me nuts so I went a different way. I filed down the shank halves to a tight fit inside a 0.090 by 0.188 OD brass tube and filled the joint with epoxy cement far away from the moving parts. I don't know if this is new but it works for me. I posted 2 photos.
