Not having an RS-3 myself yet, I can't comment on the S scale America
handrail posts, fuel tanks, number board lights or much else. I do know the
cab is too flat and incorrectly shaped. Adding a square of styrene to the roof
and filling in the edges with Squadron putty would help but then the 2 center
windows won't match the new curvature. Awhile back I had planned to pick up one
of these units and I e-mailed the chap in New Zealand that made the pewter
RS's. He said at that time (maybe 2 yrs ago) he could sell me a pewter cab for
$30. It has the correct shape and contours but I don't know if it would fit the
Am shell without a lot of fitting and fussing. You might try and see if he
still has the cabs? Make sure you specify RS-3 as his RS-2 has different cab
sides (fuel filler and sight glass are set into the cab sides).
