>(1) Do you actually have a layout, or do you just model in S scale?
No layout yet. Modules in the making for assembly into a layout after the
garage insulation and wiring is finished.

>(2) If you do run your scale models on a layout, [yours or anybody's]
>are they exactly prototypically made to scale with
>all the detail, including underbodies?
No, I use the 3 30 rule. Viewed from 3' and a scale 30 mph. Some underbody
detail that can be viewed is included and the rest forgotten. I do try to
have the correct reporting marks and car data on the cars though. Also the
paint schemes are as close to authentic as possible.

>(3) Do you attempt to run scale models as true to scale as best you can?
No slot cars here. I try to set up my operations that would be applicable
to a real railroad. I try to simulate a customer getting served, i.e. a
switching layout.

>(4) Are there models on your layout that are true to scale, but not
finished.
>Like the underbodies are not completely finished, and so on?
Yes, I do have some cars that get run even though some of the finishing
detail and paint need to be added.

>(5) Do you have any un-scale models running on your layout?
No, won't use any O27 cars with S trucks on my scale layout.

>(6) Are you serious when you say that a SHS or AM model is off from the
prototype
>1/10 of a foot, or that the slope is off a fraction, or that the markings
are
>wrong, or it has the wrong headlights for the model SHS-AM and others are
re-creating?
I usually know of the deviations made on the models. Some are more apparent
than others, but I
live with them. I'm not making contest models, but trying to do many things
at once. So robust, reliable
and believable looking equipment are my objectives.

>(7) Are you having fun?
Yes. I'm also including my boys when possible. My youngest son likes to
run, and my oldest also like assembling kits.
