From: "David Engle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: trucks for express refrigerator cars >the SSLS tender trucks I suggest are actually too long,
I ain't no expert, but I believe that tender trucks are designed for much heavier loads than express reefer trucks. Thus, the typical tender truck sideframe has FOUR coil springs plus one leaf spring whereas the typical express reefer truck sideframe has TWO coil springs plus one leaf spring. Or something like that. If you use a tender truck under an express reefer, some of your friends might laugh at you. By the way, I do have some of the "correct" express reefer trucks and can spare some. How much are they worth? These are "S"cenery Unlimited white metal castings with scale wheelsets. Cheers...Ed L.
