and he notes -

It's been a long time since I sat on an NASG Board but I don't recall any
discussion on 'diety' . I was a bit overweight then and maybe it would have
been a good topic. But if you are referring to how standards are
formulated, that is done long before the meeting by that Committee and is
either filed as a report or added to the agenda for action. The Standards
Committee usually asks for input from the membership before a change or
addition is proposed, makes a report and presents it to the Board. If
action is required, it would be added to the agenda before the meeting.

BTW - there is a way for us "plain ordinary members" (since I'm no longer
on the Board) to attend at least part of the BOT meeting and that is with a
proposal made through Initiative and Referendum. It must be presented
before the meeting so it can be added to the agenda. The procedure (I
believe) is in the Constitution but is also found in Robert's Rules Of Order.

Except for curiosity, I can't imagine why ordinary members would want to
attend a BOT meeting. They're really boring and do cut into time better
spent in the Exhibit Hall or in one of the many hospitality suites. You
might ask the current Chairman of the Board for a copy of the agenda used
at the last BOT meeting. I'm sure you would find it as exciting as watching
paint dry!
