Howdy Lee and all

Sorry for the delay in responding, but we have been busy unpacking 75'
F39 Piggypack Flat car kits that just arrive from NZ and getting them
ready to mail out on Monday. Only a few left from this first batch.

Well, Lee, my response was not intended as a challenge, but I am up to
it if you are! For us to create the PRR 2-8-0 H-8/H-9 loco kit in S
Scale, here are the particulars.....

-------------------------------------------------------------

Required - 100 deposits of $150.00 per loco. Deposits are
non-refundable & non-transferable unless the project is canceled by
B.T.S. due to lack of interest in the S scale market for the PRR 2-8-0.

Drop-Dead Date - September 1, 2005 for the Go/Cancel decision.

Estimated price - kit $600.00+/- semi-kit $870.00+/-

Delivery - Approximately six months after the deposit requirement is met.

Final payment - Due when the loco kits are shipped from NZ.

Your $$ Benefit - Those putting up deposits will receive a 10% discount
off the final price of the loco.

Construction - Same as our other loco kits. Lost wax brass details,
pewter castings for the boiler, cab, tender, domes, etc., photo-etched
brass sheet for the frame, running boards, rods, etc. All are
precision-made components that fit together well with easy-to-follow
instructions that include lots of exploded drawings.

-------------------------------------------------------------

RTR Locos - At present, we do not plan to offer any more RTR locos from
NZ. RTR locos are basically one-at-a-time, custom-built models that use
up a large amount of our builder's time and energy. Time and energy
better spent making new patterns! If you are afraid to try a kit, or
even the semi-kit where the mechanism is already assembled, there are
several good builders here in the US that you can contact. And we are
talking with one of our builders in China about assembling small runs
so there might be an opening there for us to offer RTR again.

I cannot stress enought the potential for future S scale projects. When
the PRR 2-8-0 is done, we will be closer to offering the 4-6-0 and the
4-4-2 - these three small PRR locos have never been seen in S Scale!
And when we have them done, we are just a short way from offering a K-4
4-6-2! Or even an earlier K loco like the ones that went to the N&W!
Hate to sound like an SPF, but the reality is that these locos were used
in large numbers by the PRR for many years, and many of them saw service
on other lines.

Ok, let the games begin.... or some old saying like that.

Thanks, and take care,
Bill
