Howdy Chris and all
Calm down, y'all!! ;-)
The original message that got all this going was an incorrect statement
that said to replace the now-dead & gone Grandt Line brake set, one must
spend two-to-three times the amount for the brass counterpart.
I pointed out that our B.T.S. brass set - the only brass one I know of
on the market - has a retail price that is only 12% higher than the
Grandt. A far cry from 200-300%. Things went downhill from there
with discounting hobby shops, other plastic brake sets, etc.
At no time was the discussion referencing detail levels of either set or
the easy of attachment to various materials or the financial preferences
of the average S modeler.
I suggest we bury this one as everyone's opinions are probably well set
and will not change no matter how many words are typed. No need to
continue thrashing an expired equine.
Take care
Bill
