Gentlemen and ladies,
I have continued to think about this casting. I don't have any more information than I had last time. I am going to go out on a limb and declare it is a Kemtron casting. It comes from the parts for the truck for their O Scale Alco RS-3. I don't have any proof for my statement. However I vaguely remember seeing this part in a 1960s vintage Kemtron Catalog. This catalog belonged to my father who might still have it.
